Logging onto the Remote

The logon information is now available for editing including the adding and deleting of remotebases as they become available. When you select the Logon Setup menu item the following table becomes visible:

logon.gif (5969 bytes)

LABEL:         The designation of the station in the pull-down selection area
IP/URL:         Either a fixed IP or a URL, e.g. for VK3UR use  www.daves-portal.com  in this field
STATION:      The callsign of the IRB station
LOGON:        The assigned userid -- usually your callisign
PASSWD:    The password assigned by the IRB owner

The Callsign and Passsword entry is NOT case sensitive so may be entered in either upper or lower case.

The login bar is used to enter the user Callsign and Password. The last used Callsign and Password are saved in a file and will be recalled for each subsequent login. Thus after logging into the remote once, you may just click the LOGIN  button and use the saved values.

  1. Select the Internet Remote Base (e.g. W4MQ, W7DXX, etc) using the drop down selection box on the left side fo the Login Bar.
  2. The heading on the top of the readio will change to reflect the remote connection and  if the station is available, then a yellow "Available" display will appear, Otherwise a red "Busy" or "Not on Line" indication will appear.
  3. If the station is available, then continue to enter your callsign and password. Either upper or lower case may be used -- the login is NOT case sensitive!! For your convenience the last used callsign and password for each Remote Base will be automatically stored, so it does not have to be re-entered.
  4. Click the "LOGIN" button or you may also use the ALT+C key combination  to connect.
  5. If all goes well,  the status will change to a green box containing , e.g "User is W4MQ (Rx/Tx)". At this point you are connected to the system
  6. If you entered your call or password incorrectly, you will get a 'red' message. Please enter them correctly and hit LOGIN.
  7. To logoff, just click the "LOGOFF" button or use the ALT+D key combination to disconnect.

NOTEClosing the radio window(e.g. terminating using the X box in the upper right of the window)  will automatically log off the session. Minimizing the window, will not change the connection status.
